Reservists are being called up, starting Monday, to participate in a training exercise organized in Alba and Hunedoara counties.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has already issued call-up orders for these maneuvers, which are scheduled to take place over a period of five days.
The director of the MOBEX exercise, Colonel Mihai Baltatescu, explained the potential consequences for those who fail to respond to the summons.
Mihai Baltatescu: Following the exercise, each case is analyzed to identify the exact reason why the reservist did not report for duty. If it is determined to be bad faith, the penalty during peacetime is a fine; however, during a state of mobilization, it would constitute a criminal offense. The fine is a significant amount, totaling several thousand lei. The number of sanctions issued has been very low; generally, we have opted for warnings, specifically speaking with the individuals to understand their situation.
Similar exercises are planned for later this year: in September, covering Neamt, Suceava, and Botosani, and in October, for the Bucharest-Ilfov region.
